Logistics & Supply Chain - Zwijndrecht, South Holland, Netherlands
Since 1978 RHINECONTAINER maintains a regular scheduled container service between the Benelux ports and several Rhine and Main ports. In a regular schedule 21 barges and barge combinations are being exploited. RHINECONTAINER offers her customers a quick and frequent intermodal transport alternative to and from the rhinebank states.Via seven strategically located container terminals of our partner Wincanton (Neuss, Frankfurt, Mainz, Worms, Mannheim, Stuttgart en Karlsruhe), and by several "free terminals" (Emmelsum, Emmerich, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Bonn, Wörth, Kehl, Strasbourg, Ottmarsheim, Basel, etc.)Rhinecontainer has launched a tramp service throughout the Rhine basin, as a supplement to its network of regular barge container services. The new service features the shipment of consignments of containers beyond the regime of fixed sailing schedules. In addition, it enables other Benelux sea or inland ports to be linked with any hinterland Rhine port. Additional calls at Amsterdam, Moerdijk or Utrecht are just some of many new options. The new tramp service has started with two ships of 268 and 336 TEU. This size of ships allows the transportation of large container numbers, at the same time safeguarding maximum operational flexibility thanks to their size and speed. Next to performing tramp trips between the North Sea ports and the hinterland Rhine ports, the two ships will also be deployed for inter terminal container traffic along the river Rhine. We are confident that our new tramp service meets market demands and constitutes a valuable extension of our regular barge container sailing schedules.RHINECONTAINER offers a reliable and efficient package of logistic services
