Mariachi Luna Llena is Rice University's student-run professional mariachi group. The mariachi is dedicated to building cultural bridges both at Rice University and in the Greater Houston community. Through public and private performances, the group aims to keep the rich tradition of mariachi music alive. Recently, Mariachi Luna Llena performed at Miller Outdoor Theater, the Houston Rodeo, various city-wide music festivals, and even multiple Houston Rockets and Houston Astros games. The ensemble seeks to build family and community across the Greater Houston area. Mariachi Luna Llena truly believes that musical performance brings people together.
