The Story of a PhotographerEven as a young child growing up in Tucson, Arizona, I was captivated by the magic of visual storytelling. My exploration into the world of photography all started with watching movies. As time passed, I eventually became more enamored with the magic of the film's cinematography instead of the story itself.Fast forward to the age of 22, I found myself enlisting in the US Army as a 19-D (Cavalry Scout). This is where I found my first story as a photographer. Over my 15 month deployment to Afghanistan, I was able to document my personal journey as well as the many others entangled in the conflict. Upon returning to the Fort Drum, New York, I was started to submit my work to several online publications. Within two months, I was contacted by National Geographic, BBC, and other publications that were interested in publishing my photographs in both print and online. After departing the US Army, my relationship with National Geographic continued as my story became the subject of an Emmy nominated interview.Today, the breath of my subject matter has expanded greatly, incorporate strobe lighting and other goodies.
