Welcome to Rights Working Group, a diverse coalition of more than 350 local, state and national organizations working to protect the civil liberties and human rights of everyone in the U.S. regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, or immigration status.Rights Working Group leads the Racial Profiling: Face the Truth campaign, which seeks to prohibit all types of racial and religious profiling by law enforcement agencies working at the local, state and federal levels. The campaign has three national policy goals: * To win Congressional passage of the End Racial Profiling Act which would prohibit profiling on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, national origin or gender. * To secure reforms to the 2003 Department of Justice Guidance on the Use of Race by Federal Law Enforcement Agencies to ensure that no federal law enforcement agencies are permitted to use racial profiling. * To stop the collaboration between local police and the Department of Homeland Security on enforcing federal immigration laws, which encourages racial profiling and increases the mistrust of communities in the police department.Organizations are invited to join our coalition and to utilize our member tools and resources to fight racial profiling in your state, town or city. Member groups also support the coalition's efforts to win policy reforms and federal legislation that would ban racial profiling nationwide.
