Ringve Music Museum is Norway's national museum for music and musical instruments. Since the beginning in 1952, about 2.000 instruments from all around the world have found their way to Ringve. Since the beginning in 1952, instruments from the four corners of the world have found their way to the exhibition rooms at Ringve, and today Ringve has more than 2.000 musical instruments in the collection. Musical tours where the guide plays on a variety of instruments is arranged in the summer, and makes the foundation for the vivid presentation of the music history that Ringve is known for. Ringve is one of eight departments in the museum community "The Museums in Sør-Trondelag", has 12 permanent employees and engages approx. 40 on a seasonal basis. The Exhibitions, a rich museum shop, Ringve Botanical Garden NTNU and dining in Tordenskiold Café makes the daily offer for visitors at Ringve. Besides concerts in various genres the premises are also used for conferences and dinners.
