Riva's closed July 30, 2011. Independent restaurants do not have the big budget to compete with the chains. In a big town that is not as much of a problem. In a small town like Greensboro people are too conditioned to not go to the big box restaurants. It's just not a good business model for this size town without a downtown living presence. Those who work downtown do not stay at night and that is what killed our business.
