Closed for 2019 for renovations and improvements Dear Friends, River Run was established in 1981 with almost instant success because of its pristine location adjacent to the Ottawa River Provincial Park. Rafters liked the fun but very competent river guides and kayakers enjoyed the only facilities at rapids end. Wilderness Tours (WT) pioneered whitewater rafting on the Ottawa in 1975 and has remained the industry leader ever since with its top-notch resort, great food, almost nightly entertainment and scores of comfortable cabins with bathrooms. Being first to raft the now world famous whitewater, WT sought National Park status decades ago. When early attempts failed, WT decided to "go it alone" and steadily amassed over 5,000 acres on both sides of the river. With a National Park closer than ever, WT recently acquired River Run to be the commercial hub on the Ontario side of the river. It's a huge undertaking and we are starting this summer. Because of long winters, our timeline is short. For that reason, we are closing River Run during development and directing River Run's rafting and kayaking clientele to Wilderness Tours.
