At Riverside, we operate as a primary point of entry for the evaluation and treatment of most musculoskeletal disorders. Care is based upon the application of medically accepted evaluation procedures including complete orthopedic and neurological evaluations as well as specialized functional examinations, specific to the presenting complaint. Treatment is based upon the most current, best evidence available, integrated with Dr. Bodoff's clinical expertise and in consultation with the patient, to decide upon the option which suits that patient best. Dr. Bodoff specializes in "primary care for the spine", that is, the first contact physician for someone with a spine related disorder. One who is capable of managing the majority of these patients without the need to refer to a "specialist" for, say, injection or surgery. We, at the primary care level, are capable of and responsible for managing the majority of patients, with spine related problems like back pain, neck pain, headaches, disc problems, etc., ourselves and coordinating injections and/or surgery in those very few who need these.Additionally, Dr. Bodoff works with runners who have developed spine and lower body pain related to running. For this he completes treadmill gait evaluations and specialized running related functional assessments to develop patient specific treatment plans to keep them running, while undergoing a short course of in office and at home manual medicine and exercise therapy.
