We were incorporated as a rural municipality on December 9, 1912, and our area covers approximately 131 square miles. It includes Emerald Park and over 20 other subdivisions and estates. The RM also neighbors include six First Nations and six other RMs. It's governed by an elected municipal council serving seven divisions and an appointed Chief Operations Officer who meets every month on the second and fourth Tuesday. The reeve of the RM is Mitchell Huber, while the COO is Sameh Nashed.
