It's extremely expensive to build smart roads today. nobody wants to break the asphalt, install sensors and pave again. that's the main reason that we are not driving on smart roads, even though your car uses top notch technologies. Another problem by not having smart roads is lack of ability of aggregating data, understand deeply the driver's behavior, the road's condition, the hazard arising in real time, to predict maintenance years ahead and even predict upcoming accidents , by identifying patterns, and basically save lives. The driver gets many benefits from the road either: he can drive in a friendly environment , as he can see the road, at any weather, miles ahead. in case of alert, the LED's on the road change their color for the alerted area, warning the driver and give him enough time to take intelligent decision. At RoadSense we have developed a unique system that can convert any road to smart road, by deploying our devices on the road (like road studs). Our senses generates their own energy (under patent registration), so there's no need to break the road in order to install them. (therefor it's very affordable to install) .The devices aggregates data. The data we can collect is very wide: traffic patterns, type of vehicles, count vehicles, any irregular behavior, recognize many types of hazards (like holes, avalanches and so..) All the data we aggregate is sent to our cloud which "cleans" all the big data and build a clear, REAL TIME picture and status. any alert or hazard on the road will be shown immediately on the road operators (RO's) screens, as we give them access to the cloud by PaaS (Platform as a Service) or by API if they want to embed the data in their existing road control systems. Another advantage of investing in roads is the endless opportunity. By the year 2050 we'll have globally 98,000,000 KM of paved roads. 40% more than today! We can make them more....making sense.
