Robust Chickens develops botanical applications to treat Avian Flu & Newcastle disease in poultry. Products are non-pharmaceutical and designed for organic disease control. Both Avian Flu and Newcastle disease infect millions of birds annually. Infected birds are required by law to be destroyed. The problem is urgent and disruptive.Today, there is no vaccine for Avian Flu. Currently available vaccine for Newcastle disease has proven to be ineffective at preventing uncontrolled outbreaks causing substantial loss. What is Avian Influenza? "Bird flu" is an infectious, viral disease caused by the Type A avian influenza and does not normally infect humans though sporadic human avian flu infections have occurred. However, once the virus infects certain birds, humans and other mammals, it can be deadly. Since the first reported human case in 1997, H5N1 has killed nearly 60% of infected persons. But unlike human flu, H5N1 bird flu does not spread easily from person to person. In contrast, both HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza) and LPAI (Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza) viruses spread rapidly through poultry flocks. HPAI virus infections (such as HPAI H5 or HPAI H7) affect internal organs with mortality up to 90% to 100% within 48 hours. What is Newcastle Disease?Paramyxovirus 1 or Newcastle Disease is a highly contagious viral disease affecting chickens, turkeys, pigeons and ducks of all ages; symptoms present typically on the nervous, respiratory or reproductive systems. Morbidity is usually high and mortality varies 90-100%.Transmission occurs by exposure to fecal and other excretions of infected birds and through contact with contaminated food, water, equipment, and clothing. VND spreads rapidly among birds kept in confinement, such as commercially raised chickens. The virus can be picked up on shoes and clothing and carried from an infected flock to a healthy one. Humans in direct contact with sick birds can be infected with conjunctivitis.
