Arts and Crafts - Rochester, NY, US
Rochester Art Supply Inc. specializes in high quality supplies for the professional fine artist. The store was originally founded in 1959 based on the aspirations of Robert Lesczinski, an avid sign painter. Robert started the business with his brother Ed and sister, Mary to help fulfill the niche of art supplies in Rochester. In 1977, John and Mike Lesczinski took over the family business and truly put the store on the map for fine art supplies. In an attempt to make the store an international hub for professional art supplies, Mike introduced many new materials and specialty lines. Rochester Art Supply was the first importer of Escoda Brushes, first to bring in encaustic paints, and the first to offer Henri Roche Pastels in the U.S. The store now carries top of the line pastels, oils, watercolors, acrylics, charcoal, encaustic paints, artist brushes, plein air supplies, paper making supplies, canvas, drawing supplies, decorative art papers, airbrush equipment, easels etc. Professional artists all over the world can shop online at: www.fineartstore.com and the store also has an amazon partnership. Rochester Art Supply is active in the local artist community and holds two popular annual events, the RAS Invitational Art Show and the RAS Trade Show. To help educate artists, Rochester Art Supply also has YouTube videos (youtube.com/fineartstore) and occasionally holds art classes in their Cascade Art Center.
