Utilities - Rochester, NY, US
At Rochester District Heating (RDH) we are committed to the Rochester community, producing and delivering reliable, high quality steam since 1985. We currently provide steam to 8.5 million square feet of Rochester's Center City, which includes buildings owned by Monroe County, the City of Rochester, local businesses, and local churches. We are proud partners with local government and real estate firms, providing affordable thermal energy for Rochester's continuing development.District energy eliminates the need for buildings to have their own boilers and maintenance staff. Instead, steam is produced at our plant and distributed to our members through a distribution network spanning more than nine miles. Our members are able to use steam in a variety of ways, such as heating, conversion to hot water, food preparation, and electricity production. The RDH plant includes five boilers capable of producing 300,000 pounds of steam per hour (in total) while also boasting an efficiency of greater than 90-percent. The plant is fully operational 24/7, 365 days a year.If you want to learn more about district energy or RDH's services, please visit www.rdhc.org.
