Rod's commitment to the promotion of design excellence is recognized through 22 national, regional, and local design awards. Recent publications include Architectural Digest, Custom Home, and Fine Homebuilding. His practice is presently focusing on custom residential and small commercial projects, all addressing energy efficiency and climate change. Always searching for new opportunities and challenges, each project is an exciting collaboration.Founder and Principal of Roderick Ashley Architects, Rod is a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects and an AIA Northwest and Pacific Region Representative to the AIA College of Fellows. He is a recent AIA Northwest and Pacific Region Representative to the AIA Strategic Council, and served as Architecture Foundation of Oregon President from 2016 through 2017 and AIA Oregon President from 2015 through 2016. Rod is an adjunct instructor for design in the architecture program at the University of Oregon and graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the U of O School of Architecture and Allied Arts.
