Roja Shams is a contemporary painter of Swedish and Persian decent, currently working between Stockholm and Bali. Growing up in Northern Sweden with its peaceful wilderness and endless forests, an early love for Nature, this Planet and the Animals that inhabit it was initiated. These are returning subjects and a natural source of inspiration.The underlying themes in her artwork deal with the expression of emotion and energy, the fragility of life and the existential cognisance in all living things around us.Her work is best described as abstract expressionism and the artwork is created with a desire to bring awareness to environmental matters and to procreate reflection and emotions captured in the colours and forms on the paintings.
