Performing Arts - Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands
Roma B. is a young Dutch theatre collective that performs open-minded, versatile and thrilling site specific theatre at unexpected locations, both nationally and internationally. The relationship between people, places and identity is the central theme in our performances. We work on sites with a specific history, such as an old working-class quarter or military barracks. But also on sites that seem interchangeable, for example a hotel room or a waiting room at a train station. Not performances in a safe venue with a grandstand, but site specific theatre that originates from the location: its people, its history, the imaginary, apt or contrasting stories that there are. We create performances in which the distinction between reality and fiction vanishes and are continuously in search for new ways of interaction between audience and performance.
