Roosevelt @ Mason is George Mason University's chapter of the Roosevelt Institute. Roosevelt @ Mason focuses on policy writing, policy advocacy, and issue awareness campaigns. We have published policy proposals that {address / apply to} all levels of government including local (Rent Relief for Students in Fairfax City), state (Re-Allocating Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Profits Toward Sexual Assault Care), and international (Addressing Somalia's Mental Health Challenge: Peacebuilding through a National Strategic Plan). We have hosted events that featured Rear Admiral John Kirby, former Spokesman for the United States Department of State; Rear Admiral Boris Lushniak, former Surgeon General of the United States; and Steve Pearlstein, a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist.
