Roots Software was founded in December 1994 by a couple of enthusiastic Smalltalk experts, including Erik Dehaen, currently Managing Director of the company. At the start, Roots positioned itself in the market with the tagline Robust Object Oriented Technology Solutions, an acronym with a wink to the company's name. As the company name suggests, the founding fathers evangelised the advantages and benefits of Object-Oriented technology.Since then, Roots Software has surfed on the waves of emerging technologies, with an eye on customers' business needs.
