Apparel & Fashion - Milan, Lombardy, Italy
My fashion journey started after college when I moved to Paris to study Fashion Design at Esmod International. I later landed a job at Emanuel Ungaro. Mr Ungaro's savoir-faire and Giambattista Valli's new ideas were the best "finishing school" I could have ever attended. Four years later, I moved to Milano to pursue a masters degree in Fashion Accessories at the Marangoni Institute.Et voilà! This is how Rosa Clandestino was born, inspired by my eclectic background and the contrast of far-away and sophisticated places. Fashion linked to art, people and evolution that I like to translate into wearable art.Rosa? The beauty within, the feminine side of the brand, the European experience in my life. Clandestino? My eclectic roots. I feel my sophisticated side belongs to Europe, my heart to America! My love of art is cultivated through special collaborations with selected artists from all over the world whose works become part of the collections; thus, epitomizing utmost attention to details, couture tailoring, materials and style. I like to think of my pieces as wearable art and my customers as collectors! The first official recognition arrived in 2010: Vogue Italia chose me as one of the seven designers considered Who's on Next? in the fashion business. An unforgettable experience was winning Fashion Freedom for Africa, a charity project for the emancipation of African women. In 2011, Rosa Clandestino's dress and accessories were on display at the prominent Milano Triennale Design Museum.Famous celebrities, renowned international magazines and journals – Vogue Italia, Vogue Latin America, WWD, Corriere della Sera, Elle Italia, Grazia, to name a few – influential fashion bloggers and international TV networks have also appreciated my work. In 2012, fate landed me in Hollywood as guest designer for the new NBC series "Ready for Love" by Eva Longoria. Immediately after, the network invited me to participate on their show "Fashion Star"...Rosa Clandestino.
