Rotaract Club of Lewet is one of the 14 Rotaract clubs that exist in Ethiopia which was established as a University Based club in 2004, from dedicated youth that gathered from various Rotaract clubs established in the beginning in Ethiopia. It is the fourth club to be founded in the country. The name "Lewet" was coined from the Amharic term meaning "change" which as directly indicates works to bring an actual change in the lives of its community and its members through the motto of Rotaract "fellowship through service".Today Rotaract Club of Lewet has diverse members from different professional backgrounds, students, teachers, doctors, engineers, economists, social workers, IT professionals, lawyers, Environmentalists, Human Resource Managers, Researchers and those from the creative arts making it one of the most vibrant and diverse clubs in Addis Ababa. Rotaract Club of Lewet has been serving its community and has enabled its young and driven members to grow personally and professionally, address community needs, and promote international understanding through friendship and service. The club is internationally recognized by Rotary International receiving multiple leadership and service Awards both at the country and international level.
