FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS.Our founder Hans Rothenbuhler grew up in Switzerland, the son of a Master Cheesemaker. Orphaned at age six, he was lovingly raised by a caretaker known as Sister Anna who taught him the importance of faith while he trained to carry on the family's cheese making tradition. Hans became certified as a Master Cheesemaker in his home country. But he realized his true potential by bringing his faith in God, respect for people, and passion for excellence to America. Our founder would be proud to know that, today, a third generation of Rothenbuhlers are deeply committed to the family tradition of making only the very best cheese…guided by a pledge to perfection and a vision to bring nutritional goodness to your family.
