R.T. Moore was established in 1955 by Raymond Thomas Moore of Indianapolis, Indiana. RT was a plumber, and like many company success stories, RT Moore Co started as a single service shop that was founded out of a garage. By 1958, R.T. Moore Co had moved into a rental facility and by 1970, R.T. Moore Co was the top residential plumbing company in Indianapolis, Indiana. In the year 1978, the company became a Minnesota corporation with certification to perform work in this state. Meanwhile, R.T. Moore Co was growing into being a family business with his sons, Tom and Doug Moore, working at the company as well. Tom and Doug started as kids working in the R.T. Moore Co warehouse with their grandfather on weekends and during the summers. Once they became old enough, they began working in the field as installers. In the field, they learned the importance of their dad's philosophy on quality workmanship, punctual services, and fair pricing. During the 1980s, Doug Moore purchased the company from his dad and became president of the company. Tom then worked with Doug as the company's COO. Together, they expanded the company to incorporate design & build projects, along with sewer, water, and HVAC divisions.In 2007, Tom, his wife Liz, and his two children moved from Indiana to Minnesota where Liz founded R.T. Moore Co., MN, Inc. as a WBE and SBE certified company. Today, R.T. Moore is licensed in 20 different states to serve the multifamily industry, and R.T. Moore Co MN., Inc. in particular has expanded its market to include Nebraska, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming since inception. Liz Moore remains the president of R.T. Moore Co., MN, Inc. headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
