Developing a community-led programme to support rural communities in Perth & Kinross, LEADER is a rural development programme aims to support individuals, organisations and communities in rural Perth and Kinross to be stronger, more confident and inclusive to lead or contribute to local economic and community development. With a population of around 95,000 people, rural Perth & Kinross covers the vast majority of Perth & Kinross area (with the exception of Perth and Scone and areas of Cairngorms National Park) with outstanding landscapes, vibrant towns and villages. Our rural communities have weaknesses and face difficult challenges, but they have also strengths and can take up opportunities.LEADER will support a broad range of rural projects, under 2 main objectives‘Promote a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable economy'‘Creating a safe an sustainable place for future generations'.
