My Business Partner Chris McGuire, an unnamed private investor and I have established the "Russell Freeman Foundation" a 501-3c in order to created some great changes within the addiction industry. We decided to name the foundation after my cousin Rusty, who passed away 2 years ago from complications of HIV. Rusty struggled with addiction most of his life and with AIDS for 20 of those years, however when he wasn't using substances, Rusty had a heart of gold and loved everyone, especially his mom and brother Allan Freeman . Rusty was fun-loving and a bit of a goof! Rusty called me everyday to tell me as I liked to call it "Rusty's random thoughts" then hang up on me before I could respond! LOL.. I wanted to start something in his honor, and help people struggling to stay clean in the process. Luckily, I met business partners with my same dreams and goals...and now my dream are here! The Russell Freeman Foundation provides a clean, respectful, safe and secure sober living environment to the LGBTQ community who struggle with addiction. The goal of the Russell Freeman Foundation is to provide interim sober housing and skill training so that clients can begin their journey of recovery from addiction and become empowered, independent individuals. Pride House Sober Living services are unique in their LGBTQ-only clientele, long-duration sober housing, and comprehensive empowerment program. Pride House Sober Living will make a significant impact on the Dallas-Fort Worth community, in long-term recovery.
