The mission of the Network is to develop and disseminate new knowledge concerning oral- and bone-related health, and in-so-doing reduce health inequalities and promote the quality of life of the population of Quebec. To work towards this mission, the Network focuses its efforts in three principal directions:The training, recruitment, and retention of outstanding researchers in oral- and bone-related health in Quebec;The development and support of research infrastructure to facilitate the work of the Network's members, thereby making them highly competitive when seeking research grants elsewhere;The dissemination and exchange of knowledge, information, and opinions concerning oral- and bone-related health between researchers, health care practitioners, health service decision-makers, and the general public. This work is done with the aim of ensuring that:A. Knowledge created through research is translated into improved health inQuebec;B. The public and health care practitioners and decision-makers informpriority areas for researchers to investigate.The membership of the Network is made up of researchers working in universities, university hospitals, and research institutes throughout Quebec, covering a wide variety of fields related to the Network's mission. These fields of work cover the study of cell biology, oral microbiology, neurosciences, mineralized tissues, biomaterials, dental caries, periodontal diseases, tooth loss and dental prostheses, oral cancer, osteoporosis, and access to health care, among other subjects. Members and their students have access to a variety of programs providing funds to address the aforementioned foci of work. In addition, the Network has created partnerships with a number of organisations and programs to facilitate the work of its members.
