Over View of SaathiSaathi, a rural friend was founded in 1989 (registered as a Society in 1993) in a village called KUMHARPARA, Kondagaon, State –Chhattisgarh by three trained ceramic professional from Gramodav Sangh Bhadravati (Maharashtra) –Bhupesh Tiwari, Late. Bhupendra Banchhor and Harilal Bharadwaj. The organisation is inspired by the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, Kumarappaji and social work ideals of their "GURU" Late Shri S.K.Mirmira. It has been working in the field of Craft base Livelihood, Rural technology, Women and Child development, Health and Nutrition, Education, Child Rights at Kondagaon and Narayanpur.VISION AND MISSIONSaathi's vision is to create a free artisan society in Bastar where the poor, land less artisan are able to earn a decent living out of their livelihood systems.The objectives set out by the team at Saathi's are:• Revival of traditional craft of Bastar• Strengthen rural livelihoods through on-farm and off-farm activities • Meaningful education for all• Implement schemes for the integrated development of the rural sector
