Nanotechnology - Randburg, Gauteng, South Africa
SabiNano is a privately owned South African nanotechnology company that manufactures and supplies carbon-based nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes (CNTs), graphene and other nanotech and biotech-based materials and technologies for research and development (R&D) and industrial applications. We are a research and innovation-driven company with experienced staff and partners to conduct in-house R&D for various industries. We also offer nanotech laboratory services and consulting services to various in the public and private sectors.. Our nanomaterials have a wide range of technology applications which include coatings (anticorrosion paints, radiation shielding, etc) light weight/mechanical reinforcement (e.g. reinforcement of polymers, energy storage/electrodes (e.g. super/ultracapacitors, batteries, etc), transportation (e.g. automobile, aerospace, etc), military (e.g. defence mechanisms), drinking and wastewater treatment (e.g. mine/industrial tailings, municipal water treatment, etc), electronics (e.g. electronic circuits, display screens, etc), civil engineering/construction (e.g. cement, bricks, steel), health (e.g. sensors, diagnostics, etc). Our main focus is to service the demands of the rising local market while developing new applications for various industries such as those require raw materials and chemicals in their R&D and production processes. including the manufacturing of carbon materials that consist of multiwalled CNTs, nitrogen-doped CTNs, carbon spheres, and graphene. Our core competencies include:i) Customization of manufactured products (e.g. carbon nanotubes and graphene): The company has the capacity to customize these products to suit specific customer requirements.(ii) Application innovation (including R&D): The company can identify application of its nanomaterials in end products/technologies especially in technologies that have not been explored before. (iii) Lab testing/services – nanoscale materials and technologies.
