Having completed a BA in Fashion Design & Fashion Marketing at the American University in London, Carlotta Gherzi began test running her designs under her own name at the Alternative Fashion Week in London 2001. The success of this show proved there was a market for her creative talent. However, after reflecting on the show, Carlotta felt there was a need to register the Sado' label – winning the Cancer Research Young Fashion Designer of the Year Award. In 2004, Sado decided to enter a growing prosperous market- the Russian arena, one that Carlotta understood very well, having lived her formative years in Russia. The instincts proved correct and Sado' sold three consecutive collections in the finest silk, wool, cashmere, suede, to some of the best retail outlets in Russia. Sado showcased their work through Milan, Moscow and London Fashion Week since spring/summer 2008 and will continue to extend their company profile this coming autumn/winter 2009/10 through the International trade mill. In terms of press the label has attracted important names within the consumer and national press in the U.K, Russia, U.S.A, and Italy. Instyle, Daily telegraph, Officiel, Harpers Bazar, Cosmopolitan, WWD, Elleuk.com, Drapers Records, Glamour to name the few.
