Safetytech Accelerator Details
The award-winning Safety Accelerator programme has been running since June 2018 to foster collaboration between the ecosystem of digital startups and operators in critical infrastructure industries to help solve important safety and risk challenges and help establish and grow the "safetytech" sector. It was created as joint initiative between Lloyd's Register Foundation, a charitable foundation whose mission is to protect life and property, and Lloyd's Register, one of the world's leading providers of professional services for engineering and technology and was run in collaboration with Plug and Play Tech Centre, the largest global innovation platform and most active venture capital fund in Silicon Valley. It is the only accelerator in the world focussed entirely on safety and risk in industrial sectors, created with industry and for industry, with unparalleled access to sector expertise, regulatory knowledge and market insight. It has engaged over 600 early-stage technology businesses and launched 20 cutting edge innovation pilots with global corporates.
