On 26th December 2011, The Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam officially issued the license No. 238/GP-NHNN for establishment and operation of the Saigon Joint Stock Commercial Bank (SCB) on the basis of consolidating of 3 banks: Saigon Joint Stock Commercial Bank, First Joint Stock Commercial Bank, and Viet Nam Tin Nghia Commercial Joint Stock Bank. Saigon Commercial Bank (the consolidated bank) officially operated since 1st January 2012.This was a turning point the development history of 3 banks, marked the change on the total asset value, the outstanding development in technology, the nation-wide network and the professional knowledge of the employees.On the basis of succeeding to all inherent strengths of 3 banks, the consolidated Bank has at once gained advantages in the banking sector and now is in the top five of leading joint stock commercial banks in Vietnam with the charter capital of VND 10,584 bil, the total assets of about VND 154,000 bil, total mobilized funds from credit institutions, corporates and individuals of over VND 110,000 bil. The before-tax profit reached more than VND 1,300 bil. The operation network of 230 banking outlets nation-wide.
