"Sail Like a Girl" has a new meaning. This group of incredibly strong women are working to crush stereotypes, create more opportunities for women and girls on the water and expand resources and communities for female sailors in the Pacific Northwest. In 2018, the team competed in and won the Race to Alaska (R2AK), becoming the first monohull and all-women's team to win. These ladies have grit, true passion for all things water, and the determination it takes to excel at this epic 750-mile journey from Port Townsend, WA to Ketchikan, AK. Conquering whatever Mother Nature threw at them in the often treacherous waters known as the Inside Passage, R2AK was a break from the daily grind, helping them get out of their comfort zones and find their inner warriors.Sail Like a Girl has partnered with the Northwest Maritime Center, and will be offering a wide variety of programming in the year to come. Keep an eye out for upcoming classes, seminars, races and more!
