Nonprofit Organization Management - Hong Kong, New Territories, Hong Kong
'Sailability' is a world wide organisation but is operated independently in each location and country. It started some 35 years ago in the UK and has spread rapidly across the USA; Australia, New Zealand, Asia & Europe. The aims of each Sailability programme are very similar. Simply put, 'Sailability' provides the facility for the disabled community to have the opportunity to sail or at least, to have a water based experienced. In Hong Kong, we have bi-lingual programmes (Cantonese & English). These are open to everyone with a disability provided they are resident in Hong Kong. Based at Hebe Haven Yacht Club in Pak Sha Wan (near Sai Kung), sailing now takes place on most days of the week. We have now had some 420 people take part to date and this numbers includes individuals, schools, other charities & NGO's. We are able to provide our service to nearly all types of disability - both physical and those with learning difficulties.
