The Saint Andrew's Freedom Forum is working to raise the awareness of the denial of human rights and religious liberties of the Ecumenical Patriarchate while also celebrating and recognizing human rights and religious freedom defenders throughout the world. The Saint Andrew's Freedom Forum is a secular initiative drawing inspiration from the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, the religious center for the world's 300-million Orthodox Christians, which is located in present day Istanbul, Turkey. The Ecumenical Patriarchate has acted with fortitude and dignity in the face of state sanctioned abuse and discrimination. Where the Ecumenical Patriarchate suffers the abridgment of human rights and religious freedoms, it has responded with calls for conciliation, tolerance and understanding among all peoples. To bring further attention to those whose human rights and religious freedoms are being denied, the Saint Andrew's Freedom Forum organizes activities throughout the United States and internationally, particularly governmental forums, to echo the Ecumenical Patriarchate's message that we must all co-exist in a harmonious and tolerant global community.
