Saint Lawrence Academy closed at the conclusion of the 2015/2016 school year as a college-preparatory Roman Catholic high school in Santa Clara, California, USA. Founded in 1975 it reveled in its small size, which translated to close interaction among students, administration, faculty, and counselors. It was located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Jose in California.As a college preparatory school, Saint Lawrence Academy's graduation requirements included coursework in English, mathematics, social studies, science, foreign language, fine arts, religious studies, computers and physical education. Saint Lawrence Academy also offered Advanced Placement and various honors courses. Students at SLA were offered English Literature, English Language, Spanish Language and Culture, U.S. History, Calculus AB and BC, Physics, Macro and Micro Economics, and Psychology. World languages were offered for French, Spanish and American Sign Language.In February 2016, the Diocese of San Jose announced the closure of Saint Lawrence Academy at the conclusion of the school year due to "a significant accumulated deficit, declining enrollment levels, and the inability to raise funds to stabilize and sustain operations."
