The Department of Mechanical Engineering from the day of its inception in the year 2011, has been taking long strides in the field of science and Engineering. The Department was started with an intake of 60 and subsequently was increased to 120 in the year 2012-13. The Department provides most sophisticated laboratory facilities & excellent infrastructure to the students. The department has well qualified, dedicated, enthusiastic Teaching and Technical staff members.It is a discipline that finds wide scope in emerging areas like Composite Materials, CAD, CAM, CIM, Robotics, Mechatronics, and Renewable Energy etc. The Department organizes a number of Guest Lectures and seminars by the Faculties from the reputed colleges such as IITs and Anna University, Chennai. The Department also organizes conferences and Industrial visits to ICF, NLC, Ashok Leyland, IGCAR and Ennore Thermal Power Station every year. The students of our department have good communication and Inter personal skills. Their thoughts and creativity has yielded them many Awards and Prizes.The Placement record of the department is excelling and is towering to almost 80% every year. Our students are placed in Tier I companies like Hyundai, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, TVS, Anand Automotives etc. The department poses an excellent and progressive academic record. The Department has deep roots and has consistently maintained its top position and this is possible only with the help of the strong staff support to the department. Numerous staff members have actively involved them self in Research activities and their experience carves students interest to mould their technical knowledge in various fields. The staff members are published various research papers in reputed journals every academic years. The staff members and students are published 15 patents. The department has started a Post Graduate programme of M.E.(Industrial Safety Engineering)
