Arts and Crafts - Salem, OR, US
Sine 1949, the Salem Art Association has hosted the Annual Salem Art Fair & Festival which is the largest community-building event of its kind. With more than 200 participating artists, music and performances on two stages, artist demonstrations, hands-on activities for children and much more, the festival draws 50,000 visitors annually. With a strong tradition of artistic excellence since 1919, the Salem Art Association (SAA) enriches the cultural fabric of our community. From contemporary art exhibits at Bush Barn Art Center, decorative and historic art at the Bush House Museum, public cultural programs and art workshops to school programs and the annual Salem Art Fair & Festival, SAA's many activities foster creativity and appreciation for the arts and local history. The Bush Barn Art Center, home to the Salem Art Association, houses three galleries and a Gift Gallery: the A.N Bush Gallery which presents major exhibitions of regional, national and international artists; the Focus Gallery which showcases the finest contemporary work by Oregon artists; the Camas Gallery which features both two dimensional and three dimensional art among other forms of media by more than 150 regional artists; and the Gift Gallery which features handcrafted jewelry, glassware, fiber art, functional stoneware and sculpture.
