SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, October 19, 2013 The Salinas Valley Food and Wine Festival is an independent event that operates under the nonprofit umbrella of the Oldtown Salinas Foundation. The entire festival is 100% volunteer-run and organized as a nonprofit activity. The festival, annually, draws nearly 5,000 participants and covers six blocks in historic Oldtown Salinas. Dozens of wineries are located inside Oldtown Salinas businesses with vendors located on the street. Several stages feature everything from live music and cultural activities to wine and food lectures complete with sampling. Oldtown Salinas is transformed into a vibrant panorama of a wide variety of vendors and displays. Given the agricultural connection to the Salinas Valley, farm equipment is displayed. There is a vintage car show and a fantastic kid's zone. One of the most popular draws is the beer garden, where guests can choose from dozens of regional micro-breweries.
