Quite simply, as a nation, we are abusing the aquatic environment. The Government's own assessment indicates just 23% of rivers in England & Wales meet the test of "good ecological status". Salmon & Trout Conservation UK is unique in that it is the only UK fisheries charity which campaigns politically for the management, protection and conservation of wild fish and their aquatic homes. We work to reverse the damage and encourage positive change, by collecting solid scientific evidence to influence decision makers and legally challenge them where necessary. We all have a moral responsibility to ensure that our aquatic ecosystems are protected for future generations and S&TCUK regards this as its primary responsibility.
