Salome High School became into existence in 1955 with the unique mascot, the "Fighting Frogs" and school colors of green and white. The Frog mascot was appropriately chosen after Salome founder, humorist and famous author, "Dick Wick Hall," wrote a story about, "The Salome Frog that was 7 years old and couldn't swim." The school colors were chosen because, of course, frogs are green. One of Salome's first teachers, Earl Baker, designed the official Fighting Frog mascot logo for our school. In 1976 Salome High School became its own district, Bicentennial Union District No. 76.Salome High School is the sole member of the Bicentennial Union High School District #76; covering an area of approximately 3,400 square miles and serving students and families from the communities of Aguila, Bouse, Cibola, Ehrenberg, Salome, Quartzsite, Wenden, and Vicksburg. Salome's small town atmosphere provides a safe and secure setting for students to learn and grow. Salome High School is accredited by North Central Association of Schools and Colleges.
