Salon des Refusés is a subversive experiment in short film curation with a simple philosophy: we only screen films that have been rejected by other festivals. Our aim is to highlight the subjectivity of the programming process by drawing attention to the many superb shorts which we feel deserve to be celebrated and showcased, but have been denied entry to mainstream film festivals.Salon des Refusés offers an alternative and provocative space to view these ‘refusés', forming a cinematic subculture which revels in the diversity of the cinematic form. We accept documentaries, animations, fiction and experimental films from anywhere in the world - as long as they're less than an hour long. We have previously guest-curated strands at Clerkenwell's Cineroleum, Bestival and the London Short Film Festival.
