To fast-track, India's response to its second, devastating wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has established SAMRIDH Healthcare Blended Financing Facility* to support the immediate deployment of high-impact healthcare solutions. Through this initiative, USAID, in collaboration with premier institutions such as the Indian Institute of Technology – Delhi, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, the National Health Authority, NATHEALTH, State Bank of India, corporate leaders and industry associations, is leveraging private sector resources to support scaling up and adoption of market-based health solutions that can address the emergency needs of the pandemic. Given the severity of the crisis and the urgency to act, this initiative has the provision to offer emergency grant funding to healthcare enterprises for rapid scale-up of high-impact solutions. This is complemented with a strong technical assistance and capacity building component, enabling augmentation of surge capacity for production and supply of life saving solutions to meet the requirements of current and subsequent waves of the pandemic.*This activity is undertaken by USAID supported PAHAL project implemented by IPE Global Limited.
