We partner with San Diego's innovative and entrepreneurial scientific, corporate, civic, philanthropic, and academic communities to advance mutual goals in understanding biodiversity.The San Diego Barcode of Life is achieving critical mass as a unique regionally-led initiative evolving from and underpinning the International Barcode of Life (iBOL), Biodiversity Institute of Ontario (BIO), and Barcode of Life Datasystems (BOLD) in their global missions.SDBOL collaborates with the City of San Diego Public Library, University of California, San Diego (UCSD) San Diego Biodiversity Project, and San Diego Natural History Museum. The San Dieguito River Park and River Valley Conservancy, The San Diego Zoo Global Institute for Conservation Research, and San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy also contribute to our specimen library.ResMed, Inc. made substantial contributions to "barcode their backyard" and support DNA barcoding of the San Diego County Plant Atlas at theNat. We maintain close communication with the Consul of Canada in San Diego and the Trade Commissioner for Life Sciences, matching and leveraging their strategic seed funding in executing SDBOL projects.
