The San Diego Office 365 User Group is a community of San Diegans who are users, IT pros, and/or developers working with Office 365.Originally created as a Meetup group to focus on just SharePoint Online, the San Diego Office 365 User group was founded in September 2010. Back in the days of BPOS, SharePoint Online was a shadow of it's on-premises version and required creative work-arounds to get what you wanted. As the release of Office 365 approached in June 2011, it was clear that the richness and depth of this release would be exponentially greater than its BPOS predecessor. Additionally, the expanded functionality of SharePoint Online now had measurable parity with the on-premises version, thus starting a sharp upswing in adoption. End-customers and technology professionals alike turned to online communities to absorb the necessary knowledge, and gleaning the experience of others, to successfully move to the cloud. This group is an attempt to bring some of that online community to in-person events.
