The WPSL is a 70-team independent national league whose main focus is on the development of highly competitive amateur women's soccer teams. It is an affiliate of FIFA, the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and holds the distinction of being one of the top leagues in the world. The mission of the league is to provide the highest level of women's soccer while simultaneously providing affordable, quality family entertainment and positive role models for our youth. Established in 1988, San Diego WFC (www.sealionsoccer.com) is celebrating its 25th anniversary, as one of the oldest female soccer clubs in the U.S. We are a non-profit organization that relies on outside assistance to support our players and teams. Money donated to the SeaLions is used to offset expenses for registration fees, uniforms, trainers, equipment, travel, referee fees, and field fees. The team is coached by former Women's National Team member, Olympian and San Diego native, Jen Lalor-Nielsen.
