San Telmo Design's main objective has always been to produce the best and most exquisite rugs combining two main ingredients: the patchwork technique and the highest quality in cowhides. The traditional patchwork technique dates back to the Egyptians, thousands of years ago. It is considered to be, not only a valuable method, but an artistic traditional expression. It represents value and exclusivity. And the possibilities of developing this technic are enormous. San Telmo Design combines this art with natural cowhides. Design, harmony and bright colours are some of the concepts that influence and determine our collections. The design process takes place in Barcelona, Spain, after we select one by one the best South American's cowhides to produce our rugs and chairs in our workshops in Buenos Aires, Argentina. To produce our rugs we use only machinery to cut and nail, the major part of the production process is part of a traditional handcrafted technique. Our team is composed by artisans and professionals with selection and design criteria. It takes a lot of time to put together the pieces' assembly and, while each rug follows strict design criteria, each carpet is unique and unrepeatable due to the natural character of the cowhides and the compositions. The use of natural cowhides it is, nowadays, a classic resource in interior design collections as this product can be used in all type of environments; urban or rural, contemporary or classic.
