A few years ago, we found ourselves worn down and stressed out. For one of us, it was the pressure of competitive law school exams and for the other, the combination of Ivy League academics and competing as a Division 1 Athlete were taking its toll. Though our paths varied, we both desired a healthy alternative to the sugar-ridden energy drinks that line the shelves at our local convenience stores, for that necessary extra boost. At the time, we turned to green tea for the bit of caffeine it offered along with its added health benefits. But, it just wasn't enough. We were consuming massive amounts, and not getting the return we sought.We then began to research for an alternative. A solution. We wanted more caffeine without sacrificing the health benefits. We discovered matcha, which offered its unique ability to generate a calm, focused energy, while also providing antioxidant levels that dwarf even the mightiest of super foods.
