Founded in 2004, sandalwood is entrepreneurial and opportunistic, with deep experience in industrial acquisitions, land entitlement, development and asset management. The firm also helps raise capital for real estate and non-real estate ventures. Phill Bowman, the founder of Sandalwood Advisors, was Senior Vice President for First Industrial Realty Trust (NYSE:FR) responsible for acquisitions, investments and development, initially in the Inland Empire and Orange County and ultimately Northern California as well. In their first full year Mr. Bowman's Irvine office earned the company's prestigious "Office of the Year" award, completing $115 million in acquisitions and dispositions. In addition, Mr. Bowman was consistently recognized as one of First Industrial's "Top Business Generators", closing 50+ escrows and committing over $300 million of equity for development projects in the greater Los Angeles area. During his tenure, First Industrial rapidly grew into one of the most active industrial real estate companies in Southern California, amassing 1800 acres for entitlement of 25 million SF of industrial product.Mr. Bowman also spent many years with Lennar Partners, subsequently LNR Property Corporation (NYSE: LNR). He was initially Director of REO, then as Senior Vice President, led acquisitions for the Western US. Mr. Bowman was responsible for sourcing, structuring, underwriting and closing opportunities ranging from real property, such as office, retail, industrial, multi-family, hospitality, land and military bases, to participating and non-participating debt investments. During that time LNR committed over $800 million in equity to development, redevelopment and loan investments with total project costs exceeding $3 billion. Mr. Bowman has been a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Real Estate Investment Advisory Council of Los Angeles (REIAC).
