The mission of the Sandy Hook Vol. Fire & Rescue Co., Inc. is to strive for excellence in the performance of prevention of loss of life, personal injury and damage from fire, medical and other emergencies of any or all persons when called upon. We shall do this by maintaining a high standard of training and public education and act and perform in a safe, courteous and professional manner.We are an all volunteer agency. We provide support to the rest of the fire companies within the town of Newtown and through mutual aid agreements to surrounding communities. We have two stations equipped with apparatus to respond quickly.Our main station is at 18-20 Riverside Road, and our substation is at 249 Berkshire Road (Route 34). We have nine pieces of apparatus that are ready to respond to any emergency: a 75-foot Quint, three pumpers, two tankers, one rescue, one brush truck, a quad, and an OIC vehicle.We currently have over 60 active, support and life members; We also have a Junior Corps and Ladies Auxiliary who support the fire company.
