Sankofa Community Counseling Inc is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to provide affordable counseling support services to San Francisco Bay Area communities. We provide services in San Francisco County and surrounding Bay Area Counties located in Northern California. We at Sankofa Community Counseling Inc. strive to provide culturally centered, collaborative, and strength based counseling and case management services. Our therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. With compassion and understanding, we work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. Our mission is to support communities by providing reduced fee counseling services to support the mental and emotional well being of individuals, children, and families who are in need of such services. We strive to help individuals and families within economically disadvantaged communities work through some of the most difficult life stressors and struggles that they face. We offer help by creating an atmosphere of acceptance and unconditional support that is respectful of individual and family values and lifestyles. It is our goal to improve the quality of relationships within families and the community by providing excellent clinical care, education, research and training, that is accessible and affordable to those in need. Our counseling services are offered in office, home, school, governmental agencies, and within community settings as specified by the client's needs. In addition to our counseling services, we provide community education, workshops, clinical supervision for counselors in training and psycho-educational training's to the broader community. All services are offered in an effort to support the mental health and wellness of the communities we serve and care about.
