Nonprofit Organization Management - Gravelotte, Limpopo, South Africa
The SanWild Wildlife Trust is a non-profit animal welfare organization established in 2000 by the late Louise Joubert in the Limpopo province of South Africa. It is a unique organisation in the sense that the only beneficiaries of the Trust are the animals that live on the 2,600-hectare wildlife sanctuary that is managed by a board of volunteer trustees... in essence, the trustees are the custodians and the animals are the owners of the land they call home. SanWild's main objective was to provide a private protected wildlife sanctuary where rescued and rehabilitated indigenous wild animals from various wildlife rehabilitation organisations in South Africa could be returned into the wild. The organisation has over the years also managed to rescue and return African animals from Zoos and Circuses from around the globe to offer them a protected home in their natural environment.
